This year I am attending SQL Pass Summit in Charlotte, NC. There are lots of great sessions on SQL Server 2012 and information being presented on SQL Server 2014. Along with all of the content of SQL Server, HDInsights and Windows Azure are being presented. From an enterprise perspective the ability to create new hybrid solutions is getting more attainable with every release. This opens up lots of great opportunities in how you can architect your DR solutions as well as where to store you data. For instance, databases that do not require being hosted onsite for transactional performance could be hosted in the cloud to minimize your onsite server impact and backup cost.
If you have never attended a PASS Summit and would like to discuss what you can expect to get out of the event contact me.
