Enterprise Architecture is consists of 4 areas within the business to document. Each area is interdependent upon the others. The process of creating multiple levels enables you to better capture the significant architectural pieces.
The four domains to research and create artifacts for include the following:
- Business Architecture
- Application Architecture
- Data Architecture
- Technology Architecture
Business Architecture documents the interactions and processes between the business strategy, organization, functions, and information needs.
Application Architecture documents all applications and capabilities that enable key business functions and data asset management.
Data Architecture documents the enterprises sources of data, logical and physical data assets and data management software and solutions.
Technology Architecture documents the infrastructure and platforms that support the enterprise including logical and physical technology components.
